Greek Chicken Meatballs

What you need

  • 500g ground chicken
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black ground pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh mint, chopped
  • 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • Olive oil, for cooking

Let's cook

    1. In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients except for the olive oil and mix together with your hands. Lightly wet your hands to avoid the mixture sticking to your hands.
    2. Depending on what size meatballs you would like, use a tablespoon or scoop, measure and roll into balls.
    3. Heat a pan and drizzle in some olive oil to lightly fry your meatballs – about 3 minutes per side
    4. To bake the meatballs, place the meatballs on a lined baking tray and drizzle over some olive oil. Bake at 200°C for about 20 minutes or until cooked to your liking.
    5. Serving suggestion: Make a greek salad bowl, with cauliflower rice, lettuce, feta, homemade tzatziki & tomatoes!
