Our Sally-Ann Creed® Pure Hydrolysed Collagen is renowned for its many, extensive benefits. This type 1 & type 3 non-GMO, grass-fed collagen is made up of 19 amino acids and is distinctly known for having particularly high levels of the amino acids glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. Its unique amino acid profile makes it a crucial factor in assisting with the structural integrity of cartilage, bone, tendons, and joints. Hydrolysed collagen is also highly absorbable by the body, meaning they can rapidly assist where needed after exercise while having amazing long-term benefits for one’s overall health.

Glutamine is an amino acid that is necessary in almost every cell, and is required for the optimal functioning of the human body. L-Glutamine powder can be understood as the fuel that boosts the immune system while improving performance outcomes. It has natural antioxidative and anti-inflammatory properties, enabling it to promote muscle cell repair and recovery, leading to optimal muscle maintenance and growth.

Sulphur is the third most abundant mineral in the human body and is a major component in maintaining and strengthening joint tissue, notably cartilage. MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is a natural sulfur-containing compound found in green plants, animals and the human body. This multi-functional mineral has been shown to assist in reducing inflammation and pain, preserve normal joint health and functionality, reduce oxidative damage and may contribute to improved recovery time post exercise.

We chose sodium ascorbate for our Sports Recovery blend as it is a buffered form of ascorbic acid that is more gentle on the digestive tract and more bioavailable i.e. better absorbed by the body. Vitamin C is a natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, which is commonly known for its assistance in regulating the immune system, preventing the onset of colds and viruses, and shortens the length and severity of illness. It assists with collagen formation in bone, cartilage, and blood vessels, while reducing fatigue, promoting wound healing, and connective tissue formation.

Medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) have become increasingly popular among athletes, and those living an active lifestyle. This popularity is due to MCTs ability to assist the body’s ability to burn fat while increasing energy levels. When digested, MCTs are absorbed straight from the gut, and move into the bloodstream, traveling directly to the liver – this is a much more efficient digestion process when compared to  long-chain triglycerides (LCTs), such as olive oil or avocados. Once in the liver, MCTs are converted into ketones, which are then distributed throughout the body as an instant source of energy.

Lastly, we have included our prebiotic fibre, MaxiPrebiotic (MaxiFOS). This prebiotic is made from ground chicory root (inulin powder), which feeds your healthy gut bugs and allows for them to perform at their optimum, which in turn contributes to improved digestion, immunity and overall health.
