How to “Fix” a Pinched Nerve

We’ve all been there (well if you are over 35 you probably have been), that horrible pain you get in your back, neck or sciatica, it’s not pleasant. So here are some thoughts on how you can address this. The main suggestion being to follow a collagen-rich ‘repair’ diet.

 Collagen: As you get older (after the age of 20), your collagen begins to decline. Replenishing it will help you to avoid more pinched nerves in the future. It will also help avoid wrinkles, joint pain, gut issues and dozens of other problems. Unless you want to eat the cartilage at the end of the chicken bones and the gristle on meat (collagen-rich) you might want to instead take my Pure Hydrolysed Collagen or Super CollagenT2. It’s tasteless and easier to take. Bone broth is another way to get in collagen, so is a good quality gelatine.

 Eat a diet high in omega-3 fatty acids from fish like salmon, pastured eggs and grass-fed beef. Fish oil is a wonderful ‘lubricator’ of the joints and the beneficial fats found in fish and grass-fed beef are superb when it comes to preventing pinched nerves or painful joints.

 Get even more antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds through organic vegetables, organic fruits and herbs like turmeric, garlic and ginger. Anti-inflammatory foods slow the effects of ageing. They reduce oxidative stress and supply essential vitamins and minerals to help you recover.

 Eat enough fibre to control your appetite and keep you regular. Remember obesity and extra unwanted kilos can add pressure to nerves and joints and cause pain so make sure you maintain a healthy weight. I recommend taking the following supplements to help treat a pinched nerve:

 Turmeric and ginger. Use in cooking and beverages.

Bromelain, an amazing anti-inflammatory

Omega-3 Fish Oil

 Frame Essentials. Truly an excellent product!

Pure Hydrolysed Collagen or Super CollagenT2 These will all help you to repair the cartilage around joints so nerves are not trapped and result in pain. (You can find them all at https://sallyanncreed.co.za/shop)
