More product information

Our soup is a combination of our vegan ‘chicken’ stock herbs and spices and hydrolysed collagen. Herbs and spices have been used for centuries, for their medicinal properties, and below we have listed some of the restorative benefits of the particular ingredients used:

Nutritional yeast powder are a source of B vitamins, which are vital for many bodily functions. It also contains 18 amino acids, the building blocks for proteins, that are highly beneficial for connective tissue, cells and overall structure and functioning of our bodies. They also naturally contain many minerals, some of which include iron, magnesium, potassium and zinc.

Onions are rich in antioxidants and are part of the Allium family, which have been known to have many medicinal properties. They have natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, and are high in Vitamin C, which support the immune system while encouraging collagen production and absorption. Their antioxidant properties assist with fighting free radicals, preventing cell degeneration as well as bone loss. Quercetin, which is a compound found in onions, has also been linked to regulating blood pressure, managing cholesterol and reducing inflammation.

Closely related to the onion, and part of the same Allium family, garlic possesses natural antibacterial, antibiotic, and anti-inflammatory properties. It has many therapeutic benefits from assisting with the common cold and regulating cholesterol and blood pressure levels, to reducing symptoms associated with osteoarthritis.  The diallyl sulfide compound, found in garlic, has been shown to be more effective than pharmaceutical antibiotics in fighting the Campylobacter bacterium, which may cause symptoms such as diarrhea (often bloody), stomach cramping and high fever.

Turmeric is a spice that has gained lots of attention recently. From turmeric lattes to finding the ingredient in your skincare products, this spice comes with a host of benefits. It has been used for thousands of years in India, not only as a food ingredient but for its medicinal properties too. Curcumin is the main active compound found in turmeric and has been linked to having strong anti-inflammatory properties and is rich in antioxidants. Many health conditions are a result of inflammation, some of these conditions include cardiovascular diseases such as high blood pressure and heart disease; autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis; endometriosis; PCOS; metabolic syndrome, and type 2 diabetes to name a few.

Paprika is another wonderful spice that is derived from ground peppers. Paprika contains a number of nutrients such as vitamin E, beta carotene, lutein and zeaxanthin, all of which have been shown to greatly assist with eyesight and improved vision. Capsaicin is an active compound found in paprika that has been shown to have high antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, similar to that of curcumin found in turmeric. It has been shown to assist with autoimmune diseases symptoms, including arthritis, nerve damage and digestive issues. It has also been linked to decreased cholesterol levels and shown to assist in regulating blood sugar levels.
