Lemongrass & Bulbinella Natural Soap
Lemongrass & Bulbinella Natural Soap
What’s in our wonderful soap:
Coconut oil:
Coconut oil is high in lauric acid, a healthy fat that provides a healthy number of antibacterial properties that are great for skin. It can work as an anti-inflammatory agent, helping to protect the skin and reduce its inflamed appearance. Coconut oil is also packed with medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) that help to retain moisture levels in the skin. Coconut oil's oily texture can break down and remove makeup, including waterproof mascara and eyeliner.
Olive oil:
Olive oil is rich in monounsaturated fatty acid and antioxidants. Its main benefit is to moisturise the skin by reducing water loss and increasing the water content of the skin, improving its health and appearance. It’s antioxidant properties protect skin cells against environmental damage and inflammation. Olive oil is rich in vitamins A, D, K, and E, as well as squalane. These can aid with decreasing oxidative stress on the skin.
Shea Butter:
Shea butter is a natural vegetable fat that comes from the kernels of the African shea tree and is used to moisturise and condition skin. It is an emollient that traps moisture in the skin thereby softening skin. Triterpenes may help with collagen deposition, cell proliferation, and cell migration that acts as anti-aging. As well as deactivate collagen fibre destruction. Shea butter may help with eczema and acne symptoms by clearing excess oil from the skin, restoring its natural oil balance.
Almond Oil:
Almond oil is derived from the kernels of almonds, it is a valuable source of nourishing elements that cooperate to improve skin health and give it a beautiful radiance. Two main essential fatty acids, oleic acid, and linoleic acid. Oleic acid, also called omega-9 fatty acid, is famous for its ability to nourish and hydrate the skin. Oleic acid creates a protective shield on the skin's surface. Linoleic acid also assists in controlling the production of skin oils, which makes almond oil a good choice, even for those with oily or acne-prone skin. Almond oil is also packed with vitamins, particularly vitamin E and vitamin A. Vitamin E, a potent antioxidant, plays an important role in protecting the skin from damage caused by environmental stressors such as UV rays and pollution. Almond oil can help reduce the appearance of stretch marks.
Rainwater:
Rainwater can be good for your skin because it's soft, has a similar pH to distilled water, and contains negatively charged ions. Rainwater has a low mineral salt content, so it's gentle on your skin and doesn't strip it of moisture and natural oils. Rainwater's alkaline pH can help preserve your skin's natural flexibility and wetness.
Bulbinella:
Bulbine Frutescens is a South African aloe-like succulent plant that has powerful anti-itch properties. Its fresh leaves and roots are used to make extracts that provide healing, soothing and moisturising benefits. The gel-like sap has been used for generations to treat and soothe everything from insect bites, burns, rashes, eczema, acne, chapped lips, fever blisters.
Lemongrass essential oil:
Organic lemongrass essential oil has purifying properties. Derived from the lemongrass plant, it’s extracted with steam. Also known as Cymbopogon, oily heads, silky heads, and barbed wire grass. Lemongrass is well-known for its antibacterial properties due to its high monoterpene content which serves to kill bacteria existing on the skin. The high antioxidant content in lemongrass oil will create a barrier against external stressors. This will reduce the amount of wear and tear that those stressors put on the skin. Lemongrass essential oil shrinks skin pores. By doing this, this oil helps stave off excess oil secretion and therefore assists in combating oily skin.
