Our Sally-Ann Creed® Bircher Muesli has drawn inspiration from the original Swiss Bircher-Benner recipe to provide a delicious Bircher Muesli Mix consisting of quick oats, sunflower seeds, whole raw almonds, coconut flakes, raisins and cinnamon. Unlike traditional muesli, which is most often served with fresh fruit and yogurt, Bircher Muesli is best served after soaking overnight.
Bircher Muesli was developed in the 1900s by a Swiss physician named Maximilian Bircher-Benner. Dr. Bircher-Benner developed it for his patients in hospital to help provide them with a more nutrient dense dish. The original Bircher-Benner recipe included the addition of grated apple, walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts, and the juice of fresh lemon. It was then often sweetened with condensed milk or cream and honey.
Enjoy this delicious Swiss inspired Bircher Muesli either immediately, when served with fresh fruit and yogurt, or soak overnight with grated apple and a squeeze of half a lemon to channel this Swiss dish’ heritage.
Ingredients: Quick oats, sunflower seeds, almonds (whole), coconut flakes, raisins, cinnamon

Instructions for use:
Mix ¼ cup – ½ cup muesli mix in water, yogurt or milk of your choice
For overnight oats: Mix muesli with milk of your choice and grated apple. Soak overnight and serve with yogurt, fresh fruit, nuts and seeds
