Magnesium is one of seven essential macro minerals which the human body needs. It is necessary for basic life functions such as protein synthesis, muscle and nerve functioning, blood glucose control and blood pressure regulation. Magnesium activates Vitamin D, B-vitamins, and glutathione. It can aid in the prevention of strokes and is essential for skeletal growth and development. Muscles need magnesium to contract and to relax; nerves need it to send and receive messages. It keeps our heart beating steadily and immune system strong, and assists with the transport of calcium and potassium in the body. Without it, many of our daily bodily functions could not take place.

Most people do not consume sufficient amounts of magnesium, and therefore supplementation is advised. This essential mineral cannot be produced by the body, therefore it must be obtained from external sources through diet or supplementation. Without sufficient magnesium, a person may experience depleted energy levels and poor sleep quality. Cognitive function could be impaired (poor memory and a lack of concentration), and depression or anxiety could develop or worsen. Muscle cramps and spasms are common and the ability to deal with stress may also be impaired. Deficiencies can result in headaches and bowel abnormalities, and the immune system may not function optimally. Adults who get less than the recommended amount of magnesium are more likely to have elevated inflammatory markers, which has been associated with major health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. Low magnesium levels also appear to be a risk factor for osteoporosis.

Elemental magnesium 320mg

Dosage & Directions for use:
Take 3/4 tsp in a glass of water, with a meal or 1 hour before bed to assist with sleep
Suitable for children 18 years and older
Do not exceed the recommended dosage

Magnesium-containing supplements may also be contraindicated in some cardiac conditions. Patients suffering from cardiac illnesses should not take additional supplements before discussing their intention with their doctor.
Magnesium is contraindicated with Tetracycline antibiotics, Quinolone antibiotics, Calcium channel blockers (heart medication) and some diuretics. Contact your doctor or healthcare professional if this applies to you.
